今回は【口腔がん】というテーマでお話していきたいと思います。

口腔がんは全てのがんの約1~2％になります。年間でいうと7,800人が罹るといわれます。
60歳代から徐々に増えはじめ、高齢になるほどかかりやすくなるといった特徴があります。

 

口腔がんになりやすい人の特徴として、

• 喫煙
• 飲酒
• 不潔な口腔衛生状態
• 適合の悪い入れ歯
• 歯の脱離

が分かっています。

 

口腔がんの中で一番できやすいのが《舌》です
そのなかでも舌の表面や先端ではなく、歯の横にできる傾向があります。
これは歯のあたりやすい場所にできるという事です。

 

【口腔がんの症状】

• 舌や口の粘膜が白く変化している
• 口内炎が2週間以上治らない
• 舌の赤みがある
• ただれている
• 歯茎の腫れや出血がある
• 歯のぐらつきがある
• 舌の表面がざらざらしている
• しこりがある
• 触ると痛い
• 口の中の痛み
• 口の中のしびれ
• 噛みづらい
• 話しづらい
• 舌を動かしにくい
• 首のリンパが腫れている
• 飲み込みにくい

 

口腔がんは発見が遅くなると、舌・顎・頬を大きく切除することになるので容貌が変化してしまう、噛めない飲めない、味覚がなくなるといった症状がでるので生活に支障がでてきてしまいます。

Hello everyone! My name is Masahiro Matsumoto, Director of Fukaya Yume Dental Clinic, a dentist in Fukaya City. Through this blog, I will share with you stories that will be useful for your oral health. I hope you will find it useful and informative.

 

This time, I would like to talk about oral cancer.

Oral cancer accounts for about 1~2% of all cancers. It is said that 7,800 people are affected annually.
It is characterized by the fact that the number of cases gradually increases from people in their 60s, and the older people get, the more likely they are to get the disease.

 

Characteristics of people who are susceptible to oral cancer include:

• Smoking
• alcohol consumption
• Poor oral hygiene
• Ill-fitting dentures
• Tooth loss

 

The most common type of oral cancer is tongue cancer. Among these, the tongue tends to grow next to the teeth rather than on the surface or tip of the tongue. This means that they tend to be located next to the teeth.

 

Symptoms of Oral Cancer:

• White change in the mucous membrane of the tongue and mouth
• Mouth sores that do not heal for more than 2 weeks
• Redness of the tongue
• Sores
• Swollen or bleeding gums
• Teeth are wobbly
• Rough surface of the tongue
• Lumps are present.
• Painful to the touch
• Pain in the mouth
• Numbness in the mouth
• Difficulty in chewing
• Difficulty in speaking
• Difficulty moving the tongue
• Swollen lymph nodes in the neck
• Difficulty in swallowing

 

If oral cancer is detected too late, the tongue, jaw, and cheeks will have to be removed in large portions, which can lead to changes in appearance, inability to chew or drink, and loss of taste, all of which can interfere with daily life.

 

Therefore, “early detection” is very important and, we offer free oral cancer screenings

Oral cancer, especially in its early stages, may be asymptomatic.
